Young workers are entering the workforce with a serious desire for change not only at work but in society as a whole, and see the labor movement as a vehicle through which we can fight for a better future. The momentum of militant, public contract fights in 2023 from UPS to the Big 3 auto companies that resulted in major victories is being leveraged to wage aggressive new organizing campaigns, especially by the UAW in the South.
We launched On The Line in this context, with the goal of producing high quality media, education, and training, particularly to expose young workers who are entering the workforce to the benefits of unionization and organizing in the workplace. We believe that popular media and resources that distill and project the lessons from the most serious battles of workers against the bosses can play a big role in training a new generation of young workplace fighters, and ultimately in winning the transformative change that we all desire.
In order to make this vision possible, resources are crucial. We rely on the generous support of our readers to ensure we can not only continue the work we are doing but to expand it to meet the moment and seize on the enormous opportunities that can catapult the labor movement into a new era.
